Has anyone had any experience with sway bars, steering dampeners or shocks to help the handling? I previously had a fl70 toterhome with a 48ft trailer and it didn't take much steering input to keep going straight even with crosswinds and passing semi's. Although the Serrano's not to bad, it does take more steering input. I know it won't track as good as the toter but, I wouldn't mind it being a little better.

Tim, The W20D suspension is the same as a gasoline powered W20. Any of the suspension enhancements kits that we have spoken about in this forum will help.

On my rig I have a front and rear track bar and a Safe-T-Plus damper. I also run Koni FSD Shocks. Hellwig and others make and anti sway bar for the chassis which many owners absolutely love.

You can search for each of these items if you want to read more owner testimonials about these devices. Brazel's RV Performance makes a Ultra Trak line of suspension devices. Blue Ox makes a TigerTrak line of devices and there are other other there that you might consider as well.

Ditto. Feels like a completely different coach. First trip to the west coast was barely tolerable, two handed white knuckled. Had all the above done. Return trip to the east coast was very comfortable.

Good info from both. I added a front trac bar, rear anti sway bar and 4 Koni's to my W-20 earlier this year and boy, did it make a big difference. I don't have the Safe-T-Plus yet, but it is next on the list of enhancements.

Shortly after purchasing our Serrano 31V I installed a Safe T Steer unit. The installation is incredible simple but it does take a bit to find the sweet spot were the unit goes exactly straight down the road without ongoing corrections. So if you install it yourself, count on several minor adjustments.

By far the largest improvement is the fact that the unit doesn't follow pavement imperfections. In fact, I am quite certain that I have no problems controlling the unit in case of a front tire blow out. Gives some piece of mind after wittnessing a class A aim for the ditch after experiencing a front tire failure. Also, the unit is less affected by heavy side winds and appears easier to maintain a straight path.

The drawback is that not all roads surfaces are equal and the unit will require ongoing steering corrections on certain conditions. Hence the fact that the Blue Ox unit has a 'floating' centre point, something Safe-T Steer lacks.

The bottom line is that I would install the Safe-T-Steer again in a heart beat.

If you add a front track bar it will compliment your Safe-T-Plus. This is my 1st hand experience. Both the STP and Track bar work together as a system and eliminate those occasional small steering corrections. I guarantee!

Although the Blue Ox "Tru-Center" has an electrically adjustable centerpoint it does not float but I appreciate what you are trying to say.

Thanks for the replies. I'm going on one more short trip next week. Then it's time for some winter projects.
