Who can I contact at Workhorse to point out the way my 2003 chassis' brake problems have been handled. I had the same old problem with seals leaking, caliper overheating, etc. They replaced the seals under warranty although it was almost a year out (only 17,000 miles) and then it happened again this year (13 months and 1700 miles later). They refused to cover it and I was charged $1125 by the dealer which I had to pay in order to get my RV.

Is there anyone I can talk to at Workhorse or do I just have to get a lawyer. They clearly have a problem which everyone but them seems to recognize or at least they don't seem to want to pay for their problem.

dd43:

First off welcome to the forum. I'm sorry to hear of your problem. I also have an 03 had my brakes rotors changed out two years ago along with the calipers. I travel over Grants Pass several times a year. I have yet to have the problem that you are. There could be many reasons you are having problems i.e., how long does your MH sit between uses, how do you use the brakes, please don't take this negative, you could indeed be having problems beyond your control, but a lot more information is needed. It looks like you have a total of 18,700, I do agree you should not be having brake problems, but I have many more miles without the problem.

Over and over again. Is this a widespread, massive conspiracy against W series brakes?
I feel sory for you W series owners and that's a shame since it was supposed to an upgrade from the GM based P-32.
WH know they have a problem but since it's being investigated by the NTSB they've decided to just wait to see if they are forced to recall all the chassis with this type of caliper. My opinion of their attitude of course but it's as accurate as anyone else's guess.

dd43, Its not YOU as hundreds have had WH brake problems on here
Me included Also my friend that just blew his front tire a couple
of wk. ago on I-95 in Ga. And the mech. that change the tire
notice the stress crack in the rotors and said to have them
change ASAP!!!Its in the shop as we speak.....
But what I wanted to say is that the NTBSA (?) has an investigation
going on NOW.. So do a search of brake trouble, brake problems
and get the phone # or web site and turn in you complaint.
If enough people complain, The squeeky wheel (brake) gets the......

I too have had problems. Although I only drive 6K miles a year, I don't see why this should cause this type of problem. I have emailed Workhorse and Bosch. Workhorse danced all around a solid answer as to what I could do to improve the problem. Bosch has not responded. Seems that my only option at the current time is to use the RV more and hope it helps. I have also reported my problem to NTSB.

dd43, i've have had 3 failures myself. You need to report it to the NHTSA. There is an ongoing investigation. You can report by phone or via the www. National Highway Traffic Safety Administration's Vehicle Safety Hotline at (888) 327– 4236 or visit www.safercar.gov.

It sure seems like most of the posts/problems are on 2002 - 2003 W20 and some W22 chassis...has anyone had a problem with the 2004 W20/22 chassis brakes?

Mine seem trouble free so far, knock on wood! My WH W22 chassis is a 2004.

Have 14,300 miles on the odometer, and a 2400 mile trip coming up in April.

Also have a 03 workhorse W22 and have the same
problem as others. Rear brakes burned and repaired to the tune of one thousand dollars.
Before getting an attorney I suggest you report defect to NHTSA, then carry copies of all your records to your local Consumers Affairs Office along with copies of the reports from NHTSA. They have attorneys on staff that can represent you. Don't be fooled into believing its your fault for not driving more. If your vehicle is non defective, whether you drive it or park it should not effect brakes sticking or not releasing properly. Good Luck

How long is your motorhome, what does it weigh loaded and what model is your Workhorse chassis?
