W22 Front Wheel hub oil ?
According to the WH manual front hub oil should be replaced every 15,000, so I'm going to change mine this weekend.
According to the manual it says replace with SAE 90wt GL5, local parts store does not carry 90wt, they carry 80w 90 would this be acceptable?

Yes and I think 15000 is overkill.

Thanks, and I agree, it has 27,000, and no records of it being changed, so will change it now and be done with it

Never heard of that spec.
I'm at 81,000 and haven't done it yet nor has the Workhorse dealer ever suggested it. And I'm sure they would suggest it if they could make money on it.
Anybody else with the W22 changing their hub oil at 15,000 miles?

Your chassis was built using synthetic oil in the front hubs. IMO,
There is no need to ever change it unless it has become contaminated with dust or water. If you insist on changing it, be sure to use the 85W90 synthetic gear oils available almost everywhere, but please understand the screw off cap is intended to be the drain (only). You need to pull the rubber plug in the center of the hub seal and put the fresh oil there until it wants to drain back out. Otherwise, you're likely to overfill and it WILL make a mess once it get heated up driving. Those rubber plugs are readily available and it may be a good idea to replace them while you are at it.
Personally, I would leave well enough alone unless there is a problem.

I wouldn't touch it either unless it looks milky. Also, I looked for 90W and the only product I could find was made by Chevron.

It's not something I would consider changing.

Understand, and looking again at the oil, it looks good, so will just hold off on this.
Thanks for all the tips

Anyone have a part number / item number for these rubber plugs from a Home Depot or Lowe's?
Thank you. -RT

Oops! A second question but past the allowed time to 'edit' my previous post. I can't find anything regarding the specification of using synthetic on the front axle, only GL-5. And doing a quick Google (maybe too quick?) it seems that when I type in 'synthetic', it comes up as 75W-90. I've topped off (figuratively) in the past using Valvoline 80W-90 GL-5 but nothing on the bottle says 'synthetic'.
Can anyone clarify for me? From the WCC Owner's Manual, for the front, I come up with SAE 90W GL-5 Gear Oil and for the rear, I come up with Synthetic Rear Axle Fluid SAE 75W-90 GL-5 Gear Oil. I can't seem to find a listing for the front axle in my WCC Guide. Thank you. -RT

Ultra RV carries the whole hub cover assembly, I would send Ultra RV a PM or give him a call, I would think he would be able to source the rubber plugs
W8000124 - Front Axle Hub Cap Asm (includes Gasket & Mounting Screws)

Any auto parts seller worth their salt would either carry them in stock or easily know how to get them.
