I have noticed that on this forum, there seems to be a lot of negative talk about how Workhorse responds to us owner. Well, I would like to take this opportunity to share and thank Workhorse for a very positive experience with their handling of a fuel leak I discovered on my MH.

While under the MH using the “Speed Bleeders” to change out my brake fluid, with the engine running, I noted a strong odor of fuel. I quickly had my wife shut off the engine and started looking to find where to fuel odor was coming from. I discovered that just aft of the engine there was a section of hose that had a crack in the return fuel line and found a small amount of fuel was on the exhaust header where it joined to the tailpipe. Can you say - major fire hazard.

I called the authorized Workhorse service center in the area (about 20 miles away) to discuss my problem with them and told them that normally, I would just have it towed to their facility, but because of the RV park we are in, there was no way that a large enough tow truck could get us out of the space we were located or make the turns in the park with us attached to get out of the park (our 40ft MH was tight fit by itself). I asked if they could schedule me in to have one of their mechanics come over (their website stated that they had roadside service vehicles) to repair/replace the fuel hose (they have special fitting on them).

Their response was that the only road side service they provided was for DP only and that the Workhorse certified mechanic was an in the shop only service tech and I would have to have Workhorse figure out how to get the coach towed over to them (it is still under warranty). It wasn’t their problem.

To make a long story short, after a couple of phone calls, the regional service manager for Workhorse himself came to our location, put on a pair of coveralls, open up his tool bag, crawled under the MH and in less than an hour he changed out both fuel lines. He had brought both fuel lines to ensure that he would have the right hose. While change out the vent hose, he found a bad section on the main high pressure fuel line that had been rubbing on the MH frame and was almost worn completely thru.

He was in agreement that there was no way that a tow truck could have come in and gotten us out of this park.

Again, I would just like to say a big THANK YOU to the Workhorse chassis team for their quick response and helped in make this a pleasant experience and averting a major disaster/fire while we would be going down the highway. It makes me happy that I chose a Workhorse chassis MH.

ROCKYBIRD:
Please go to the website and use the "Rate this dealer" function to report your story to the RSM's BOSS. You don't need to blast the ASC for what they would not do (but you can if you want to), and the dealer rating function is the best way to reward those who go above and beyond in providing service. Thanks, ED
