W22 sway bar?????

what does the sway bar look like on my 2004 w22? is the sway bar round steel or square? is it mounted to the frame from the axel like the ones on my camaro and my 04 2500 hd truck? is there a rear sway bar? how do i tell when the chassis was built i see there are changes made in the 2004 year chassis. Thanks for the help in advance. this is our familys first class A we always had travel trailers before.

There are 2 anti sway devices on your chassis and they both look like elongated square bars. These bars are both 2.5" square. The front bar is mounted in between the springs and you can see it mounted below the radiator. The rear bar is mounted behind the differential at the trailing end of the leaf springs. These bars work as torque arms where the side that gets loaded in deflection applies an equal force through the bar in opposition to the force absorbed. What the bar attempts to do is center the roll rate as best as possible and keep the vehicle upright.

There are aftermarket devices that do this job to a higher degree depending on the need of the individual owner. These device are called an anti-sway bar with Roadmaster and Hellwig making these types of robust devices. These bars are massive featuring a large diameter of steel and appear much the same as an elongated U where the bar is attached to the axle and the the ends attached to the frame.

The 10th digit in your VIN# is the year of manufacture. I urge you to go to workhorse.com and look for the My Motorhome tab and register your motorhome. This is often not straight forward if you are the second owner since you need to assure that you are listed as the owner of record. This is also very important so that you can be contacted regarding campaigns or recalls that may be upcoming.

My motor home is a 2004 but the chassis is a 2003. My stabilizer bar was a 2 inch. I bought the 2 1/2 inch bar and installed it myself. It made a huge difference in side to side sway and stability.

One thing I have never noticed on my 2005 (Chassis built Aug 2004) Is Sway

Wag, yes (Trac bar fixed that pronto) Sway, no

Believe it or not it is a customer coach - W18. They installed a rear Trac/Sway Bar also.

Just drove a hilly and curvy back road in Wisconsin that made the DW and cat both snarl at me. I have no chassis mods, but thought the coach handled pretty decently. I can feel the lean which you would expect from 10 or 11 tons resisting a change in direction, but not too bad. What I would like to cut down is the pendulum bobbing 6 or 7 times I get from slowly coming off an oblique bump. I don't expect handling like a Camaro.

Change your shocks out to Koni's. Even my wife complements them.
