nascamp--
Please do not fall into the hype-trap of the oiled K&N air filter element. The K&N flows more air simply because the "holes" in the filter media are "bigger" than the holes in the OE dry media filter. While more air flow is a good thing, more dirt flow is not. And I am sure that fans of the K&N will jump in here and claim that they had a gazillion miles on their K&N-equipped rig with no issues, however, that is not the real issue. The real issue is MAF sensor wire dirty-ness caused by the oil that gets into the air stream from the oiled filter element. Brazel's RV reported pinging caused by dirty MAF sensor wires. This pinging can be sometimes picked up by the knock sensors, resulting in engine timing being pulled from the timing tables and a resulting "unknown" loss of power..why gamble?? Use a dry media filter and change it often.
