There's no telling by touch what can be interpreted as warm however I would expect that you have a normal situation.

The level is checked in the following manner. With the vehicle parked on a level surface, the Dana 130/150 differential housing fluid level is checked from the back of the pumpkin.
The plug is located about mid-way up on the back. Remove the plug from the housing. If the fluid does not immediately begin to drip out & using a light, see if you can observe the level. It should be even with the bottom of the hole. Some guys will just stick their finger in there and feel for the level to see if it's at the bottom of the fill hole. If not go ahead an re-fill the differential using 75W-90 GL-5 rated synthetic gear oil. Stop filling as soon as the fluid begins to flow across the threads and drip out of the housing. Replace the plug.[/QUOTE]
