among the other things I plan to do to the coach come springtime is replace the mufflers...I know they're huge but has anyone done that on their rig yet? I'm curious to see what's available out there. Flowmaster makes a 50 series muffler that is 4" inlet/outlet...

If you want to get mufflers that have a better flow then go with the Flowmasters or the

UltraPower Muffler for Motorhomes

from Brazel's RV Performance. They will sound just a little louder than the stock units but that doesn't bother me. My wife on the other hand; she's got good ears!

Driver.... I love the sound of a big engine as it is going up hills so the slightly louder Flowmasters.... A good thing.. Thanks.. I'm going to have to replace mine sooner than I'd like (Stock originals on the rig, signs that they will need replacement in the not too distant future)

You know, I resemble that remark .... Been 9 years now. I never had a muffler last 9 years on any of my vehicles BUT I haven't kept any vehicles longer than 6 years.

Will less restrictive mufflers improve the MPG on my UFO?

Hi there Mr. NOMCOM member. Each of your exhaust pipes are what maybe 10-12 feet long? I might be inclined to save a buck unless someone was able to show me the difference on a dyno.

In your case, additional db in the exhaust system would not be heard unless you turn on the backup camera monitor!

As gas prices continue to rise, I am looking for anything that will help with MPG. I have added Ultra Power and just installed a Scan Gauge II so I can monitor the MPG as I go. Every little bit helps.

I think that you have done everything that you reasonably and economically can do. Call Jon @ Brazel's to check IF they have seen improvements in MPG on UFOs w/ non-stock mufflers. If you are going to Quartzsite they will have a service tent there.

I plan on visiting Brazel's booth while at Quartzsite this year.
