W24 Won't start - Appears to be fuel starved
The rig is not starting today. All is good w battery....seems like an issue with Fuel Pump or fuel filter. Engine isn't getting any gas despite near full tank.
Anyone have any info on what a replacement fuel pump would be that I could find on a Saturday? Or any other words of wisdom on the situation?

Bart, I think there are 2 fuel pumps. The obvious one would be near the engine. The other is in-tank as part of the Fuel Gauge sensor.
I do not know the test procedure to ID the failure...sorry.
Best luck

Thanks Steve. By the symptoms it seems like it must be a fuel pump issue. Do you know the appropriate replacement perhaps for the one near the engine? Is it some specific rare hard-to-find thing or something common for the vortec 8.1 engine?

Can you hear the pump run in the tank with a key turn? Also, assuming you can’t, check the fuse. Could also be the relay, you could swap it with another to check. I seem to recall one of the members did a video on this.

I hear a slight sound at key turn that might be that. That slight sounds ends after a second or two. Where is fuse located?

Before I did anything else, I would check the fuel pressure at the fuel rail. If no, or low pressure there, I would replace the fuel filter on the drivers side frame rail by the rear tires.

The in-tank pump does not stop running if functioning properly. With the key on, laying under the RV by the tank - you can hear a somewhat high pitched tone.
Not sure where the fuse is...but I would check all fuses on the underdash fuse block. Those are the ones primarily for the chassis.
The fittings (high pressure and return) shown in the early part of this video would allow an easy check to see if the in-tank pump is moving fuel:
Best luck

If you have a W-24, there is only one fuel pump and it is inside the tank. Not easy to replace and I would not assume that it just suddenly died.
Start by locating the filter which is inside the driver side chassis rail above the rear axle. Loosen the outlet tubing and turn key to on. If you get a strong flow of fuel it isn’t the pump or the filter. If possible, I would change the filter anyway, since you are already there.
If you don’t get fuel flow, then start looking for an electrical problem powering the pump.

The pump is in the tank. It should run a few seconds when you first turn the key. If you hear the fuel pump run, are you sure the no start is fuel related?

I'm not sure what issue is. It's not battery related or starter related. So I'm assuming fuel pump. And to be honest I'm not sure this teeny little slight sound I may be hearing is the fuel pump.

Are you sure they run continuously. Mine only run for about 2 seconds when the key is turned to on and then continuously once the engine is running.
And there is only 1 fuel pump on a typical workhorse RV chassis. Its in the tank.
Another easy way to check to see if the rail is pressured up is to depress the center pin in the Schrader valve on the rail. Use a rag to cover the Schrader valve so you dont spray fuel to the ceiling and in your face. The rail will be pressured up after cycling the key on then off. Its an easy check but be careful not to get a face fuel of fuel. Only a small amount will release but its under 60psi if the rail is pressured up.

You can get a fuel pressure gauge at Autozone to verify that you have fuel pressure, something like 55 to 63 psi.
AKIQpilot is correct
The fuel pump only runs for a couple of seconds when turning the key, it only runs continuous when the engine is RUNNING.

Anyone know which fuse controls the fuel pump?
