Want to warn my fellow RV'ers to stay away from Pro Tech Inc. 7960 Dorchester Rd. North Charleston SC. (843)760-9933. In July 2009 our dash air conditioning compressor failed and was replaced by Pro Tech. The compressor they installed did not even last two weeks, failed and had to be replaced in Las Cruces NM. I called them (Pro Tech) and they told me to send them the failed compressor, which I did, (delivery confirmed by the USPS), and they would reimburse me the cost to have it replaced. To date I have not received any reimbursement from Pro Tech despite many attempts and a complaint to the Charleston SC BBB. This company just will not live up to what they said they would do.

Please post your experience to www.rvservicereviews.com and/or similar websites. I never take my coach in for service anywhere w/o at least taking at look at this website first ... if I have no other choice, at least I have some idea what I am getting into!!!

Have posted there also, but just wanted to let as many people as possible know about this rip-off business.

For those reading this post I just wanted to let you know that the only 2 Workhorse Service Centers in SC are, Larry's Auto Clinic in Myrtle Beach and Love Chevrolet in Columbia.

I regret your recent service experience at Pro-Tech, Inc.

rickandcheryl I don't see where you have posted a review on rvservicereviews.com. That's how others can avoid problems.

Pete & Linda, the bad review is there, however the web site, on it's home page shows only 2 good reviews for Pro Tech Inc. in South Carolina. This is incorrect and I have asked them to correct it. Go to the actual reviews and you will see my bad review. Thanks, Rick

If anyone has a GOOD or BAD review about any Workhorse Service Center please use this resource often:

"Rate a Motorhome Service Center"

It's important!

Have you been contacted by them or have you called them since they recieved the comp? Did they even bother to send the comp back ?Any updates?

I have sent them five letters, including one return reciept requested, which was signed for by the owner and they still refuse to communicate with me. Phone calls do no good, and I really want all communication with them in writing. I have filed a complaint with the Charleston SC BBB, asked MotorHome Hot Line and Hiways Action Line for assistance and even wrote a letter to the Editor of the local Charleston newspaper. This business just will not live up to what they told me on the phone back in Aug. 2008, so RV'ers stay away!

Thanks for info. Their shop isnt to far from my home. Getting the word out is the best way to stop bad business. Word of mouth is the best/worst form of advertising. Good luck

It's tough when these things happen...

I always try to locate an authorized dealer for any rv related problem,,,may not guaranteeeee anything except it may give me another avenue for resolution,,,,,but have never had to resort to it.

I always go to RV Service Review to see what experiences others may have recorded with a particular company.

last,,,I do a search of the forums, to see if anyone else had any experience with the company,,,,,or I may ask if others have any information.

So, far,,,,,knock on wood,,,,,,,it has worked for me,,,,,,wish everyone used the review sources available,,,,thanks for posting yours.

Skipwil, I have requested Good Sam's Action Line to look into this, but that takes time. I am open to any other suggestions as to how to obtain reimbursement from this deadbeat company.

You know Rick, I'm going to Charleston tomorrow. Just maybe I could stop in and talk to somebody. jdsr on the other hand lives but few blocks away so I am surprised that he wouldn't feel compelled to go by the place and ask on your behalf.

I have tried to help you in the past only to be rebuffed however call me crazy - but I am not opposed to trying to help anyone that has a genuine need. Rather than getting the word out via bad advertising - what good does that do you - a knock on the door and the request for an answer may prove to be more of benefit to you.
