Delo Transmission Fluid & Gear Oil

Delo® Trans Fluid ESI® and Delo Gear Lubricants ESI® deliver reduced wear, seal compatibility, and lower operating temperatures. With their low-friction properties and longer operating life, these lubricants can contribute to lower fuel consumption and operating costs.

Delo Trans Fluid ESI
Delo Trans Fluid ESI is a premium grade, heavy-duty truck manual transmission fluid. Formulated with ISOSYN technology and compounded with a unique extreme-pressure additive. It is also the only non-synthetic transmission fluid approved for Eaton's 750,000 mile extended warranty.

When I was speaking to my source he indicated to me that this is the type of fluid that is used in the wet hubs. This fluid is compatible with a great number of modern transmission, wet hub & differential fluids.

Well, wouldn't you know it...just to be safe I drained my wet hubs today (28k miles-never low & not making noises) and on the passenger side the magnet on the end of the plug held about 50 silver pieces of metal. It's not just metallic oil-it's flakes of metal! I changed the fluid but am now trying to buy the bearings, races and seals.

The Workhorse Chassis dealers around Western PA have the seals but Workhorse is saying a couple weeks to get the bearings.
Anyone know who would have one axle set, inner and outer + seals? Can't wait 2+ weeks!
Thanks!

Regarding the seals, although the Workhorse seals crossed over to a 3rd party replacement and which were purchased from a local vendor, the seals leaked! Make sure you use the Workhorse seals. (inner front) No drips no runs no errors!

Thanks for the "heads-up" DriVer. I'll be sure to watch for that whenever they arrive.

I'm actually quite happy to find the problem now as in two weeks we'll be heading down to Bristol and then early Sept. out west for a month or so. I'm not sure how much of those "silver slivers" you can let accumulate without a major breakdown. Better to find out here in the garage!

Who may have in-stock parts such as the bearings & etc.? Anyone on the east coast I could try?
Thanks,
Gene

Quick update on wet hub bearings...I received the replacement from the local WH dealer (they went direct to WH $176.00 for one side inc. shipping). I'd like to send them back but since I didn't state that I wouldn't take the China made ones (trying to buy American-it's near impossible!) I'm stuck with them. I thought getting them from WH you'd get Timken or something of quality-not so! Maybe they used the Chinese ones in the first place & that's why I see siver flakes? I'll find out when I change them I suppose.

BTW DriVer, is the seal you mentioned the flat paper one? It's the only one they sold me. I thought there'd be a metal/rubber seal that presses into the rear of the hub, if so it's not included.
Thanks all,
Gene

(changed out the oil again in the "flaky hub" and after a 200+ mile trip-no signs of any metal/silver! Maybe the China ones will be a spare set.)
