From the Good Sam Highways magazine (Feb. 2010) ActionLine:
Give Me a Brake
WE DRIVE A
2004 Southwind built on a Workhorse chassis. Recently, we received a safety-recall notice stating that the brakes
on the RV could fail. We’d already experienced
brake failure prior to this notice and
had to take the RV in for service on two
separate occasions because of brake
issues. At the time of the repairs, the service
technician checked into any recalls and
found none. Both repairs totaled $2,361.07.
After learning of the recall, we sent a letter
to Workhorse along with all the copies of
the invoices and service records. It’s been
months, and we haven’t heard back from the
company. At the time, our rig was only four
years old and had 18,542 miles on it. We
paid for the same poorly designed equipment
that was recalled. Workhorse should
pay for the brake damages we suffered.
