WH replaced 3 calipers and ABS sensors

My story - 2002 Winnebago Adventurer 32V on Workhorse W20 chassis with 28,000 miles.

Noticed one dragging brake when I took the mh out of storage both times this year. After cooling down at my house, had no problems on return trip.

Took our first long trip (500 miles round trip) last weekend, almost all interstate driving. No problems on the way down, but ran into a traffic jam close to our destination on Saturday afternoon with about 15 minutes of stop-and-go driving. Noticed at least one dragging brake near the end of the jam. Got off the interstate about one mile from our destination and dragging brakes continued. Road had no shoulders or turn-offs, so continued at about 25 mph. When I got stopped at destination and walked around, could easily smell burning at three wheels. The ABS light was on continuously.

The next morning I drove home (mostly interstate, no stop-and-go) without problems.

Called a truck service center I have used who is also authorized WH center. Brought the mh in Monday of this week and explained my story to service manager and technician who has worked on WH brakes. They do not expect any recalls before September. They said they would check for damage, contact WH if needed, and get back to me.

Got a call earlier today that my mh was ready for pickup. WH authorized the replacement of three calipers and ABS sensors on the whells that had been dragging. The rotors and brake pads did not have any damage and did not need replacing. The fourth wheel that has not experienced any dragging brakes had no damage and nothing was replaced.

The service manager looked at all of the components on all four wheels and indicated that the rotors were not damaged, the brake pads were not damaged and had plenty of "meat" left, and recommended that the undamaged wheel did not need a new caliper at my expense.

I am going to drive the mh as repaired until the recall is completed. I am among the many of us that think this recall should have been completed before now, but I am grateful that WH stepped up and fixed their problem, at least in my case. I hope others with problems can get the quick service I have received.
