I just bought my first motorhome a 2004 class A fleetwood storm workhorse chassis with a chevy 8.1 with only 8600 miles on it. What chassis code do i have and what tranny. I know its an allison tranny but thats about it. Also does anybody have a link to buy a repair manual for this motorhome. So far i love this thing it does just as good as my diesel truck towing a 33' 5th wheel. Allthough I wouldn't mind more power and better mpg's.

If you are the owner of record you can go to www.workhorse.com
and all the information on the chassis will be there under "my motorhome"
If you are not registered you may do so using your chassis Vin.
You may have an Allison tranny or possibly a GM.
Enjoy your new rig.

o.k. I registered on the workhorse website. Pretty cool to see all the info but I still don't see where I can tell what chassis i have and I think I have the chevy trans. I went to the allison website and punched in the trans serial # and nothing was found. I just want to make sure I order all the right fluids and filters for this thing when the time comes.

I found it , I have a W22 chassis and a allison 1000 trans

Go back to the website and download the 2009 chassis guide. In it you will be able to find all the info by using your VIN. I downloaded it and burned it to a CD for future reference. Its loaded with useful information. You will also find all the lube points and recomended fluids.

Vince:
While looking at your chassis info at "My Workhorse" you need to look for the section about "Campaigns" and verify if the brake recall for your W-22 is "open" or "completed".

Hi

My son and I are in the process of aquiring a 2000 allegro on the early (1999) workhorse chassis. We need advice on how to identify the vehicle and engine from the vin data? As we are not (yet) the registred owners the workhorse site will not allow me (as yet) to access the details. any Idea`s please would be welcome?. Especialyl we need to be able to confirm (or not) if Recalls have been carried out.

It's going to be P32 chassis with the 7.4L 454 GM engine...if you can provide the VIN I can get you more specific information.

Pete, I had a 2000 Adventurer on the same chassis you have. I really enjoyed the motorhome, but in the begining it had some handling issues. Do yourself a big favor and contact Jon Brazel about one of their Ultra Trac Rear Trac Bars. After installing one on mine it became a pleasure to drive.
