Hello Folks....,

I'm just about to changed my engine oil on my 2006 8.1 liter MH and i went to the Chevy dealer to buy my new oil filter. The guy gaved me two oil filter part number PF454.

This afternoon i had a look to the oil filter already installed in the MH and i realized that the one i boughtat the dealer are smaller then the NAPA gold 1060 already there. Is the PF454 are the right oil filter or the guy made a mistake.
Thanks

Robert

The AC Delco PF454 is the direct OEM oil filter for the 8.1.

Some posters here use the NAPA filter because it is bigger, but I prefer the OEM oil filter.

Here we go again.... You can use anyone that fits. Me I use a 2 qt Wix.

Yes, DriVer I know that GM/WCC use the itty bitty one for such a big engine.

Dale I thought the larger filter also allowed you use 7 qts instead of 6 1/2 qts?

Yep... If the filter fits and does not interfere with anything I use it.

If I read older post's on this subject correctly , the following filters in the AC/Delco series should work on your unit:
1: PF 454
2: PF 932
3: PF 1218

Driver, is the 6 7/8 qts not 7 because you pre-filled the new filter before installing it?
