I have a 2005 southwind 32vs on a w20 chassis with the 8.1 chev engine..The parts store here says there are two sizes a short one and a longer one. any one know what size a w20 takes?? My workhorse book does not list anything on the belts. I picked up the #s 25-061080 for gates and 1080k6 for kelly spring field off past forums any help would appreciated .
Thanks MABRY.

MARTO: Does your signature mean that you've added a propane conversion system to run your 8.1L ???? If so, would you be willing to share your experiences and/or pros and cons of the modification? THANKS, Ed

Your best bet is to find the markings on your existing belt.

Hi Edgray.I will tell you what i can but firstly i am from England and currently in Spain and our fuel prices and yours are very different.I will give you figues in uk £ and litres because i did talk with Jon Brazel about it a while ago and he must have thought i was crazy with my figures telling him i get 9-10 mpg not realizing us gallons and uk gallons are different.
There is not much difference running on lpg to gasoline except the cost.My system is a Romano sequential with twin 110 litre tanks and they give me a range of about 400 miles. The rv averages 2 miles per litre gasoline or lpg and the advantage is lpg is half the cost of gasoline so i go twice as far for the money and when you see how much our fuel is its a lot less than running a diesel.I just looked on ebay uk and more than half the 70+ gasoline rv s are duel fuel lpg. Here are the figures
Lpg conversion fitted £3500
Gasoline £1.40 per litre
Diesel £1.45 per litre
Lpg £0.70 per litre
Roughly $600 usd to fill my 75 us gallon tank with gasoline over here and you need to do a lot of miles to benifit from your outlay.Hope this helps.

MARTO: Thany you very much. While I don't claim to be smart enough to covert all your numbers to US $, your answers (highlighted above) confirms what little I currently know about this concept. I am looking into possible conversions here in the US and hope to post more details later.

Since "most" campgrounds here sell LPG, I doubt re-fueling locations will be a problem once an RV is equipped with additional LPG tanks large enough to cover a day's drive. Thanks again, Ed

I took mine off and had it matched up. Put the new one on and kept the other one for an emergency. Now, you have a spare on board that you know will work and you also know how to change it out and have what you need on board. Even if you can't do it yourself, for whatever reason, you have a replacement and if it should rarely break, it will do so in Death Valley on Sunday and someone may be able to help you, instead of waiting on the repair guy or a tow. Neither of which, is as much fun, as fixing it on the spot.
