We have a 2005 36 foot motorhome on a workhorse chassis, W22. The Tires are Goodyear 245/70R19.5 and I can decide what pressure to run.

Here are my actual weights:
Front Axle : 6350 lb --> 3175lb/tire
Rear Axle : 12200 lb --> 3050lb/tire

From the Tire Chart

70 psi S/D 3640/3415
75 psi S/D 3740/3515
80 psi S/D 3890/3655
85 psi S/D 4080(F)/3970(F)
90 psi S/D 4190/4115
95 psi S/D 4335/4265
100 psi S/D 4540(G)/4410(G)

S/D = Single/Dual

The tag on the coach suggests running 85 psi.

Currently I am running 80 psi and wondered if it would improve handling if I dropped the pressure to 70 psi.

Also I am unsure what the F/G are referencing.

Here is a link to the tire chart : Good Year Tire Inflation Chart

The learning curve continues.

Thanks in advance

Dave.

Dave, I believe you really need to get the weight of each wheel location rather than averaging the axle weight. If one corner is heavier, you use the higher PSI for both tires on that axle. Usually the tire pressure plaques indicate the pressure necessary to carry the axle weight rating.

The "F/G" are the tire load ratings, found on the sidewall of the tire.
