This was taken from the front page of the BrakeResourceCenter
Workhorse Custom Chassis (Workhorse) is pleased to announce that the redesigned service brake caliper assemblies, which represent the final remedy for recall 50901-C, are now available at your authorized Workhorse service center or dealership. In addition, Workhorse has assigned a new safety recall number, 51101-C, for the final remedy procedure. On September 17, 2010, Workhorse expects to begin mailing letters to the owners of record for the motor homes affected by this safety recall. Please follow the instructions contained in the letter.
We apologize for any disruption and concerns associated with this issue. We take pride in the quality and reliability of our Workhorse chassis products and the after-sale service and support we provide to you and your motor home. Your confidence in Workhorse is extremely important to us, and we are committed to doing all we can to make your ownership of a Workhorse chassis as worry free and enjoyable as possible.

What is the content (text) of the letter? My authorized Workhorse service center asked if I had received mine today when I dropped-off my '01 W22 for recall service. They said they had a "big meeting" yesterday to try and determine exactly what Workhorse would and would not pay for--I told them to the best of my knowledge it was only caliper and fluid replacement. But that with approval from a Workhorse RSM other brake components could be approved for replacement.
I'm hoping only my rear pads need replacement as my Workhorse service center indicated August '09, when I had to pay the expense of having the front rotors and pads replaced due to overheated rotors when not yielding to the effects of brake heat during mountain driving.

At this point there should have not been this type of confusion about the recall "because" it is completely detailed in their On-Line resources that they are connected to at Workhorse. All they have to do is read the page to know exactly what is covered. It is interesting to see these issues pop up. Very weird indeed!
The letters are in the mail today and owners should be receiving them early next week.

I received no letter, authorized dealer took the bull by the horns and just ordered my parts and said they would call on arrival.
My coach goes in for the brake work on October the 4th, they wanted to do it this coming week but we'll be on the road!

I too got no letter but.. That said I'm not sure I updated my snail mail address at Workhorse in time to get it.
I know the original Fuel Clip letter I did not get because General RV (Wixom MI) Said they would take care of all the owner registration cards for the assorted stuff in the motor home INCLUDING the chassis.
They did not.
I ended up talking to a gentelman whom I'm sure Driver Knows (I won't post the name, I also know this gentelman reads this forum, He is a very nice person in my opinion and that's not just because he is may be reading this) and he E-mailed me the letters.
Then I went to the Authorized service center and was told "We can not do that in 2 weeks because we can't get the part that fast"
I went home, called Troy, and on his way home (west of my house, Troy is east of my house) He dropped off the fuel clip and his card.
2 weeks later I handed in the clip, attached to the card.
After that when I needed parts.. FED-EX overnight was employed

Check mailboxes starting Monday. I was just at a rally, and the Workhorse Ambassador there had a copy of the letter. He said the letter was scheduled to be mailed Friday Sept. 17th so unless his info was incorrect, the letters should start showing up anytime now.

The only parts you will get under recall is the unloaded calipers unless you can prove dmg(good luck with that). You dont even get a total brake flush which wh must believe is not nessary reguardless of the hype posted here.IMO

Got the letter and authorization today and have an appointment in Knoxville next Wednesday. Have not been able to find out if Reeder Chevrolet is a select service center or not. When I asked the truck shop manager about the $1500.00 service, she did not know what I was talking about. We're going anyway.

Thanks K6TBC, I appreciate the info. I sort of gathered that it wasn't, but was not certain. Let me ask, have you seen a list of select or non-select service centers?
