Where did you buy your Koni FSD shocks?
Where is the best price?
What did you pay?
Did you install them yourself?

About $700 installed. I was in a hurry. A large truck shop and WHS dealer in Salt Lake City, UT. Can't remember name.

I bought my shocks direct from www.koni-rv.com and then I had them installed a Turning Wheel RV in Ocala, FL in 2005!

Hallspeedshop.com $557 delivered in 2009; installed myself - not too hard but the air impact gun helped. Greg

Hello dajudge,
I have a 2007 Allegro Bay 34' which has Bilstien factory shocks. Did the ride improve after going to the Koni's?

R Shomo,
Many owners have reported that their ride has improved after having installed Koni FSD Shock Absorbers. Brazel's RV Performance and Redlands Truck Service are 2 distributors for the shocks which are sponsors of this forum.

I'm not really sure the ride really improved, DW thinks it did. I think I would have to put the Bilstiens back on to really get a good comparison. Koni FSD's did help take out the harsh separation joint feel of the pavement, bridge joints, etc. The Koni's certainly did not hurt the ride.
If I had it to do over, I don't think I would spend the money to take off my new, perfectly good Bilstien's again to replace with Koni's. I don't believe the Bang for the Buck is there.
However, a lot of folks swear by the Koni.

Pat

I drove a freinds Allegro Bay 37' with the Koni's and have to admit the ride was a little better. After some thought, is it worth it for me to spend the extra now for a better ride? Nah. When it comes time to replace I will but with Bilstein as I just can't justify the extra $$$$ for a "little" better ride. I'm glad I had the opportunity to try them out before making the big plunge. Most people compare the new Koni shocks to there old worn out shocks and claim a vast improvment and it should be. Not many people have removed new shocks and replaced them with Koni are any other brand. New is nearly always better.

SR, Unless you're building a better mouse trap. New old - doesn't matter so much .... technology is everything IF it works and surely the majority of owners that have installed the FSD will support that claim. I compare for instance my new shock performance to the newness of the replacements. I've had 3 different sets of shocks that I went through.

I removed my bilsteins w. 5,000 miles on them and replaced them with koni fsds. So I was comparing new to new essentially. The Koni's were a little harder riding (nothing bad) but the huge improvement was the rebound control. No more neck snapping pogo stick porpusoining 2 to 3 times of the front end after hitting big bumps on the interstate etc. Greg

I replaced my new Bilstien's with the Koni's and the improvement was hard to believe. If you want the "old" Bilstien's, come and get em.
