it is very likely that the chassis is a P Series with a GM 4 speed transmission.

The W18 debuted in 2006. It's a W series chassis, but still had the 4 speed trans. I think the P series carried on in the 16,000 GVW chassis for a while longer.
Winnebago's 2006 literature shows the Sightseer/Sunova 26P (27'1") on a P series, and the 29R (29'9") available on a W series. Might want to check those out.

Safari Trek has a 29' with 2 slides, and shorter w/o slides. You must verify the chassy as some built on the "P" chassy. Unique bed, large bath, large kitchen counter space.

Build the Trek on a short wheebase 22,000lb UFO and you would have one cool, short coach.

After the P Series was sunset, Treks have been built on W20s.

thanks, thats what i was afraid of...
hey, hey now, we hear about lots less problems with the P-32
not only that, but I've had to slow down, and then get up speed to pass a lot of W's , going up mtns. Now I admit, I get a smug look on my face when I have to do that And often that same MH was going faster than I wanted to go on the level before we hit the uphill.

no problem with chassis(that i know of )i'd just prefer 5 or 6 speed for lower gears and 2 overdrives.

Does the front have an independent coil spring front suspension? One that doesn't have a teeth jarring ride that vibrates the screws out of the dash and cabinetry. If so then it's one of millions of P chassis' still on the road every day of the week.

so... how is the p series? ive read about wandering issues etc... ive owned a 75 dodge diplomat II 25', 98 chevy 20.5', and just sold a 02 36' dolphin. none have been difficult to drive, none have been great. ive been concidering an 02 or 03 winnebago sightseer 27' and r-vision 26'. some have said very narrow front wheels, would these years have the "wide track" chassis??? TROPICAL 36 are you suggesting p's are smoother than the leaf spring w's. and are the various steering- track accesories available for the p's? thanks
