This does not appear to be a Workhorse. All Workhorse RV Chassis start with 5B4.

The VIN you entered (5BAKP57GX43386151) has an invalid check digit. The check digit is a value encoded into the VIN in order to protect against altering VINs illegally. Since the check digit is invalid the VIN that you entered is not the correct VIN for your car.

On Edit: If I change the 3rd character to a '4' instead of an 'A' it corresponds to a 2004 Workhorse P30 chassis.

What you have there is 2004 P32 Chassis. In the opinion of most owners, it is reliable however like anything else you will have challenges and that's why we are here.

There is one open campaign: 50402-C:

You should get a lot of good use out of this Winnebago motorhome.

Darryl, I still have access to resources that were available to me while I was an ambassador. I don't know how long those will be available as I expect that the resource will be taken down at some point in time.

with this coach being 9 years old with only 17,400 miles on it, is it wise to service the transmission and diff fluids? Also should the alternator bearings be replaced and a new belt be installed? The tire show a 2010, and 2011 date codes so they should be OK.Is there any thing else that should be addressed before we hit the road? thanks, Joe

Joe, The answers to your questions and recommendations for preventative maintenance should start pouring in OR I would expect that they will shortly.

About your alternator bearings ... don't worry about it. If you are getting 14.2~5 volts out of your alternator and the belt train isn't making any appreciable noises; (respectfully) there's nothing to be concerned about.

A new belt and or idler/tensioner may be in order however not seeing or hearing the engine run, I can not make those recommendations. You will need to re-pack your front wheel bearings and flush your brake fluid. Dexron needs to be flushed and refilled with Dexron VI (6). The change interval is 50,000 miles. Your Chevrolet, GMC dealer or Quality Auto Parts warehouse will have the internal filter. Try Pn# 24210956. Lastly change your oil and filter using quality fluids and filter. Synthetic oil at this time in the life of your engine would be acceptable.

Lubricate all your suspension grease fittings (there's a bunch and don't miss any)

You will also need to change your air and fuel filter as well. Check the fluid levels for power steering and check the fluid in the parking brake reservoir.

Air up your tires according to the weight of your vehicle, and hit the road.

If you were a Workhorse Club Member you could download the 2006 or the 2010 Chassis Guide which would detail all these procedures. I have all that's left of the "printed" 2006 Chassis Guides that I would like to sell @ 50% off and I'd like to recover the mailing expense. (USPS priority mail) (the checks are made out to the Club not me personally)

DriVer,
Would you mine checking which Chassis I have?
the vin is: 5B4MPA7G653406737. 2005 35a Suncruiser.

On our first trip with it I was fighting a terrible crosswind, 15-25 mph. I had a terrible time driving it. When conditions are good I can easily control it although not with 1 hand at 6 oclock. I do have sway when meeting or being passed by 18 wheelers.any and all advice welcomed as we are new to Motor Homes.
Thanks

Kend51, That's easy. Looking at your VIN# I can tell you that you have a 2005 W24. 2005 was the year when the W24 was introduced. The standard features of the W24 Chassis revolutionized gasoline powered motorhome manufacturing. Equipped with Quadraulic calipers and the ability to carry 24,000 pounds of GVW, for the 1st time, OEMs could build almost anything they could think of.
