Which Transmission

I have just purchased a 2006 Allegro Bay 34XB. It is on a Workhorse Chassis. I know that is has an Allison transmission but I am not sure which model. I have the owners manual but is generic, covering the 1000 and the 2000 series. Which one do I have?

That depends on the year and model of your chassis. If you post the last 8 digits (only) of the chassis VIN#, then I can get the exact info for you. Ed

If the engine is Ford or Chevy take the vin to a local dealer service shop and have them enter the vin and they can print out all the chassis info for you.

Thanks folks...the last 8 numbers of the VIN is 63415432.
Another question... when was the brake recall issued on this vehicle? The previous owner either was not notified or just did not have it done.

thanks again, Leo

LEO: Sorry to be the bearer of bad news, but you have three (3) open recalls on that chassis. Apparently the previous owners never had anything done, as it does not show any repairs done under warranty either. If you send me an email to: edgray1@gmail.com I will reply with the build sheet showing the open recalls, as an attachment. That will also answer your first question about the tranny.

You will need an ASC to perform these recalls, AND you need to notify WCC of your ownership in order to get future correspondence from them. Ed

Your transmission is:

M70 TRANSMISSION AUTO 6 SPD, SERIES 1000

You have an Allison 1000MH.
