I've been okay so far (knock on wood), but have been following the threads about reman calipers. When there rebuilt , do they use Bosch parts? Are the pistons replaced or just cleaned up with new seals ? Just want to be ready in case my number comes up! Thanks, Terry

jeepfreak, Please do not concern yourself with a spare set of calipers. You are way out of the failure envelope and I don't expect that you will have a problem. This recall will happen this year so no need to pull the trigger to spend money for re-manufactured calipers.
If you look at the profiles on the NHTSA website you will see that problem vehicles are peaking for the 2004 chassis and 2005 are just beginning to ramp up. 2006s are off the screen. 2007s are not in play.
If you want to spend a little money, go and have your brake system flushed.

I flushed the fluid last october, I wasn't going to buy spares , just was wondering and I'm sure others who might be in the market to make their MH a dependable coach might be interested . I'm trying to be positve about this but just found at the end of the 2006 info that I downloaded from you, was a brake recall dated july 2004. That does not warrant great confidence WH. SO the origi nal question is still out there.

jeepfreak, The 50401-C campaign does not apply to your vehicle. This campaign addressed issues with the original ZOPS calipers which are now obsolete and the majority of the affected units have had this campaign cleared. That said there are still rigs out there if one looks hard enough that may still have this campaign as "Open." The affected model years were 2001 to mid-2003 only. Chassis from mid-2003 and onward have been fitted with ZOHT calipers.

You may or may not get Bosch parts on a rebuilt caliper...but as long as the piston or inner body is not scratched, or nicked, the only parts that becomes worn are the "O" ring or the boot, and that's why periodic inspection of the piston boots is important. If the boot is ripped, cut, or torn then dirt can get in and damage the caliper piston and wall
