Interesting article in light of the ongoing discussion(s) involving WH chassis brakes.

Outstanding find JC2!!!And when you think that we are driving very heavy trucks, with all the heat that our brakes create, with the same brake fluid that is in a 3000 pound car, sure makes you think,WE NEED A BETTER BRAKE FLUID!!!If it exists.

whaler, Well "one" better brake fluid does exist. It's made by Motorcraft. It's Ford DOT3 brake fluid. It has a boiling point of 550° which is the same temperature as DOT5. The stuff is expensive BUT it's the best.

And I just had my 15,000 mile,2006 F-150 changed when it was in the dealer back in December.Seems the dealer has some kind of pump or somthing to make it a easy change out.Seems like I paid about a $100 or so.I think they have to do something with the proportioning valve in the system.
Even so though Driver,If you think about the weight of these rigs we drive, the natural affinity of brake fluid for moisture, the air brakes of the bigger rigs, sure makes a lot of sense.
