Windshield wiper cleaner hose problem

The windshield wiper water cleaner/sprayer at the end of the hose keeps coming off it's base. Therefore, water goes everywhere except on the window where it should. Any good ideas on how to keep hose end on the base other than gluing. If I glued, if I needed to replace, I would have to replace the whole assembly rather than just the hose. I tried some silicon but that did not last. Thanks....

Maybe try wrapping some thin wire, like the supermarket bag ties, around the hose and the fitting it fits on?

I tried plastic wire ties. They would just slide off after using a couple of times.

Is the base broke? I bought some spares this winter as I have one that doesn't stay in place due to the clip being broke as seen on OEMY's web site.

I Have noticed that the ends that connect to the sprayers enlarged over time. I have removed them and cut the tip off maybe 1/4 inch and reattach it. Do you have enough to make a new cut? Try that if you do otherwise replace the tubing any hardware store or auto parts store carrie that size tubing.
Good Luck,
Tim

I used an electric ring terminal connector. The hose attaches to the end where the wire would go (remove the plastic end on the connector) and the ring attaches to the wiper arm where the old one broke off. The washer fluid travels right thru the connector to the windshield.

The tubing on our model is almost duplicate of drip irrigation tubing...could replace it all for very little $.
The ends will stretch and the tube can dry and crack.

Best luck

It always amazes me when I see someone with the same type problems that I have and think, well I guess I am not alone with this. Nice to hear the possible solutions to this problem. For month now I have been driving down the road thinking I really need to fix this problem, but how..... Gale

Age will cause the tubing to not stay in place or develop cracks.

I was able to find all the tubing and spray nozzles at Mill Supply. I ordered extra tubing just to be sure and ended up using it all.

As others have mentioned, tubing is easily replaceable either at a local parts store or hardware store. If you like to replace it every few years anyway, I've even used the clear-type from Lowe's or Home Depot. (Black does blend-in better though.) I leave a little extra on the end so I can just cut it back slightly for a tight fit again the second time around. -RT

I tried to order from these guys using Paypal but did not want to open an account with them (I get enough email) and gave up. Their shipping was ridiculous for three dollars worth of parts, they started at $17 and the cheapest was $8.

I used two drops of super glue on each nozzle and they work just fine. I had just replaced all of the hose.
