IMHO - 86 the foam filter.. & 86 any filter that has been wet. You looking at $12 for a new air filter.

I agree, I changed the air filter yesterday and no moisture what so ever, it was fine. I changed it anyway while I was in there. $28.xx for the filter, wish it was $12.xx. Thanks to everybody for your help. Will order wires when I get home. Talked to a friend who is the service mag at a marine dealer and he said that in the marine environment the 8.1 eats sparkplugs. He said in some cases they have to change them once a year. Most boats don't get but a few hours a year put on them. Needless to say when I have wires changed I will do the plugs also. Should I have the MAF changed at the same time?

Unless you know it's defective I wouldn't change it. For sure I'd have them clean the MAF but unless you know it's failing leave it alone.

Sometimes swapping in new parts can create a problem if the new one has an early life failure.
