we bought a2005 winnebago in feb. on a 2400 workhorse chassis with a 8.1 vortec and i think an allyson 1000 tranny. can someone tell me how to verify the transmission id . also why no recall on the 2400 workhores brakes. i suspect its because it may not have bosh brake cylinders. one more question what to watch out for in the future for maintenance problems.

Welcome to iRV2.com! Glad you joined and posted your questions.

If you will please post ONLY the last 8 digits of the chassis Vin #, we can check and get back to you.

It depends on when your chassis was built, which is why Ed is asking for the last 8 digits of your VIN. If it is a 5-speed on a W24 chassis built in 2005, it is likely a 2100MH.

Your W-24 is a 2005 model year chassis, and is equipped with a 5 speed Allison series 2100 tranny with TGB. The tranny ID # 614316L310422221.

FWIW, the contact info is for an owner in North Hero, VT. If you don't live there, please vissit the company website to learn how you can become listed as the owner of record.

If you need additional info, please send me a PM. Ed

I have a 2009 W24 Chassis, and to address your brake question, yes, the W24 is not included in the recall because it does not have Bosch Brakes. I don't recall the exact brand but I do know they are quad cylinder as opposed to the dual cylinder Bosch brakes and the plunger thingy is made of a denser material that doesn't absorb brake fluid which is a contributing factor in the Bosch Brake issue...

The brakes on your 2005 W24 are made by ArvinMeritor.
