The check engine light came on on our 2005 Bounder/workhorse/8.1 @ 90 miles after we bought it in August 2010. A reputible shop replaced the passenger side knock sensor and said the insulation was heat damaged. After @ 60 miles the light came on again at the start of a 2200 mile trip. Returned the MH to the shop after the trip and the same code was set. Replaced the passenger side knock sensor again. Three miles after I picked up the MH the light came on again. Fearing gremlins, I returned the MH to the shop. Mechanics put in a new sensor and, after a few miles of test driving, they finally experienced the light. After swapping passenger and driver side sensors and road testing they pin-pointed the failure to the new sensor. They ordered a genuine GM OEM sensor and installed it in place of the NAPA part they had installed and the fault code seems to be corrected. Less than 100 miles so far but I will update after some miles.

Not related to MH, but this says something about after market parts. I installed 2 after market starters on my Accord both of which failed to engage properly. The third, and final, starter was OEM.
