changed the air filter on our w/h today and there are 3 clpis on the top of the housing that keep it closed. the one clip closet to the engine broke off, looks like from rust. can't even see up there how it was held on. do you thing there is a problem with just using the 2 clip? or should i wrap it with a bungee cord or duct tape/

You might consider ditching the stock air-box and making a cold air intake box.

Two should hold it fine until you find another clip. If really worried about it move the middle clip to the outside spot. This place should be able to find one (link Below) or Even brazels might be able to help you. Good Luck JP Used RV Parts - Colaw RV Used Parts and Accessories

You don't want dirty air "leaking" into THAT side of the filter box. I would tape around the entire box and rear cover until a replacement clip can be found and installed. Ed

Perhaps an office supply binder clip would work. Staples® Metal Binder Clips, Black, Assorted Capacities | Staples®

These clips can probably be purchased at a GM or WH dealer and are GM/WCC PN 25169408 as noted on the WH Chassis guide, page 95.

BTW, this info was originally furnished by our own forum member, edgray, in post #8 of this link, W-22 AIr Filter Help Needed

You need to get out more Mr Ed as it keeps the mind fresh. Your contributions to this forum have always been appreciated.

Thank you, Jerry. That post was made almost 4 years ago........I've slept since then so I had forgotten. Hopefully your post will help the OP locate what he needs....tape is so messy! Ed

As an expedient and as a means of sealing the box, duct tape would work but what a mess ... I am reluctant to suggest that anyone use it.

Although the Air Filter Box Access Clips have been listed on page 95 of the Chassis Guide for several years, it's just something that I had always glossed over and and it just never registered.

I'm bringing a K&N doorprize to Cape Hatteras. I believe it to be a filter however I did not open the box.

I sent a message to Colaw after reading this or another post last night looking for aluminum wheels, even though they did not have any I did get a call the very first thing when they opened this morning telling me that.

I appreciated the call and just wanted to let every one know.
