My Mystery Coach

Thank you Ed for all your help. I am a little confused but am happy to find I have a M24. I didn't realize that the yellow parking brake knob was a give away. I guess I'm good as long as everybody has the wrong VIN number. (me. insurance and MVA)

That vin is for a 2004 W-22 sold to Fleetwood-Riverside, CA. It has 3 recalls, all completed. The Bosch calipers were replaced 10/22/2010 @ 24,752 miles. If you want the documentation, send an email to:edgray1@gmail.com with your screen name in subject line so I can attach it to a reply.

Brake recall status

Hello, new to the forum and RVing. We are thinking about purchasing a 2005 Kountry Star and are looking to find out if the brake recall and any others have been completed.

That is a 2004 W-22 chassis. All 3 recalls were completed, with the Bosch calipers replaced 3-13-2012 @ 41,965 miles.

FWIW, I had a 2003 KSCA 3740 on a W-22 that I drove for over 98,000 miles before trading it for a WBGO on a W-24. The Kountry Star was the mid-level Newmar gasser back then, and mine was almost trouble free for the seven years we had it. Wish I still had it.

Thanks Ed for the quick response I greatly appreciate it. The coach is in great well cared for condition with quite a few upgrades; Onan 7000 Marquis Gold genset, Full solar panel with controls, Firestone Ride-Rite, Moto Sat. We just aren't thrilled with the floorplan. It has a rare 3708 which I did not see many others. It has 69000 on it and it is right at 30,000. Just trying to convince myself it is the right one.
Thanks again.

Your 2005 W-22 had two recalls, but only the fuel rail dampner CLIP recall was completed. Unfortunately, the Bosch caliper recall, 51101-C, remain open (NOT done) according to the WCC warranty database. I urge you to get this done ASAP.

If you want the build sheet which confirms this info, send an email to: edgray1@gmail.com so I can attach it to a reply. It won't display correctly here in the forum.
