Just finished up call from a customer that had a brake seize on him Saturday and he is just now getting brake parts.

He called Workhorse per the Interim Glove Box Insert..... Best answer he got was here is a number to call on Monday. Monday morning he starts calling around to find a replacement brake caliper and found nothing, na da, zip. The closest Workhorse Service Center had no parts nor did any of the large truck centers. He calls Workhorse and spent 30+ mins getting either being put on hold or getting voice mail before he actually talks to a HUMAN. The customer service rep was no help what so ever and was told Workhorse no parts to sent to him.

That's when I get the call earlier today while I am a Wal Mart shopping. He has little or no internet service, other than his daughter Blackberry, to check the web site for part numbers. I get him to call Mark at BW Brakes on Kansas City in hopes that he can fix him up.

I called the customer late this evening to see if he was able to get a replacement caliper. He told me that Mark set him up with 2 calipers with over night shipping. But, the kicker is, $300 shipping. Due to the fact that he didn't have internet access I verified, via the UPS site, that the 2 calipers were on their way.

Lastly, I doubt that Workhorse will pay for anything as the repair is being done by a non-Workhorse Service Center. Lucky for the customer he has an extended warranty that will cover most of what has to be done. Now all he has to do it get the approvals. I told him to take lots of photo's and save all the parts.

The bottom line here is... Very poor Customer Service on Workhorse.

Hi Dale and all;

Thanks for sharing the report with everyone. So, I ask, what else is new with Workhorse and their lousy customer service as well as the totally bullxxxx length of time that it is taking to fix this mess.

Bob

Very sad that Workhorse does not do more to releive this problem with the brakes. I am beginning to think that it will never be solved. I have a 2004 and have had problems off and on now for 5 years. I have had all the calipers replaced and I still have problems of heating whenever I get into an area of a lot of stopping in a short distance, such as several stop lights one after the other. I am inclined to replace the pistons with steel ones but I keep hearing that next month WH is going to start the recall, but it appears that next month is never going to come. I guess if they wait long enough we all will be dead or have quit RVing. Sad

You would think by now they would realize the bad press here and on other sites is hurting their bottom line.I am beginning to think they know they are on a sinking ship and are cutting their losses before they are gone.
I must say the first brake recall on my unit was done without a problem,but this one has been a total disaster.

Yes, this debacle has been going on for much too long now. To many false hopes and excuses. The only thing that has forced me to keep my W-20 is the negative equity that is still left on the loan. We've been hitting the principle very hard for some time now, and very soon we'll be at par, so when that happens or I get close to even; well, bye bye Workhorse and hello Ford. I know.........the Fords have the 66mm brakes too. But I havn't heard too much about problems in their camp. We owned a Ford class C for nearly 10 years prior to the current rig. Never a problem with the brakes, tranny or engine. Just venting and just saying!
