Hello, I noticed on another thread that Driver could identify the chassis by the VIN. I need help identifying the chassis on a 37' 2005 Winnebago Adventurer. The VIN begins with 5BMPA7G14339.........
Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to help a friend and all we know at this point is it is a Workhorse.
Thank you very much.
Dave

Welcome to irv2.
I'd say you have a W-22 Workhorse chassis, most that length were W-22's as mine is.

Dave: ALL Workhorse vin #s begin with 5B4 and are 17 digits long. "Normally" the "A" means it is a W-24, BUT if you will post or PM me with the last 8 digits, I can find more info for you from the Workhorse database.

Hey Dave
You can try this chart however it appears that you are missing the first digit. As the seventh digit should be the # 7 meaning MH.
Any ways good luck with your friends MH.

Dave it's a W24 Chassis. It has a 5 speed transmission and a Vortec 8.1L engine. The chassis is rated for a GVWR of 24,000 and a combined GCWR of 30,000 pounds. The W24 has 4 piston Quadraulic calipers. This vehicle appears to be manufactured in 2004, 10th digit.

The first 3 characters in the VIN are 5B4. You were missing the "4".

Thank you all very much for your help, it is greatly appreciated.
The problem he has is with the J72 auto park. The system appears to work as it should EXCEPT, it has developed a small fluid leak at the park brake assembly. The brake still holds but doesn’t seem to be as strong as it should be. The friction material on the disc seems to have worn quite thin due to the fluid contamination and possible overheating due to previous unknown engagement while driving. I believe we can replace the friction material on the disc but do not know the original thickness specs. And we cannot find a source for the large square shouldered o-rings (quad seals?) that are leaking.

You have a GM (Chevy) P32 chassis. All Workhorse vin#s begin with 5B4.

oldusedbear is a great resource for anything auto park brake related. That being said I do not know how much experience Roger has with the J72 park brake found on the W24 chassis. Between Roger and Alan here at Brazel's I think we have you pretty well covered on anything you need for it though.
