I saw a Workhorse Class C today. It has a Chevy bowtie on the front grill. OK, which is it, a Workhorse or a Chevy?

The bowtie is also on the steering wheel, because CHEVY makes the entire cab and chassis. The WORKHORSE badge on both sides is there because WCC is doing the marketing to the coach builders on behalf of GM. It comes in three GVWRs topping out at 14,050. WCC does not perform warranty service, but we WELCOME these coach owners to join WCMC! Larger GVWRs such as the Kodiak are not marketed by WCC. ED

Could be wrong but I thought I heard that the frame and suspension were a Workhorse design and that is how the Workhorse badge gets applied to these units.

Yes, Mike, you are wrong. The badge is there because WCC markets the GM designed and produced product to the OEMs for GM. ED

Once that was complete, GM took the ball and ran with it. GM is totally responsible for construction and warranty support. Workhorse produces product brochures and markets the product for GM.

Taken at the Initial Ride & Drive Heads-Up Comparison at Lazy Days, Seffner, FL

I believe at this time that there are 3 weight ratings that are badged GM/WCC begining at the top with the 14,050 which is the same GVWR as the E-450 van cutaway chassis.

Thanks DriVer, thats basically what I thought I heard. I got it from my contacts at the Wentzville plant where the chassis are assembled having retired from it 10 years ago after 33 years with GM.
