I must have missed this somehow, maybe I was traveling dunno?
I am reading May issue of Family Motor Coaching Magazine and I read that International Truck and Engine corp also owns Workhorse custom chassis, which it acquired in 2005. Is my memory going at 75 or is this the best kept secret in the industry.
The release states that Minaco coach and International Truck signed an agreement to form a joint venture to manufacture rear engine diesel motorhome chassis, with Monaco owning 49 percent and International owning 51 percent. They will be built in Monaco's 210,000 Sq Ft. Roadmaster chassis plant located in Elkhart, Indiana as they are leasing this plant to the joint venture.
Now is this news and how does it relate to Work horse and us owners?
Let's hear from those of you that know about this because I sure didn't!
Thanks to all responders,
Bebop

Yes Bill, this is old news, and as a matter of fact, it is so old it has grey wiskers on it! However, I feel it is a good thing that Navistar has decided to be a player in the motorized RV business. Regards, Chuck/Bagman57

The joint venture is called Custom Chassis Products, Inc.
This operation is building the existing WCC and Roadmaster RDPs. If you wonder about overlap, the Roadmaster RDPs already start out at a higher GVWR than the Workhorse RDPs (currently 32k max), so little overlap, if at all.

I would think then that it is bound to be good for Workhorse Chassis owners who buy new models in the future.
