Yeah, you will get a change oil notification when the odometer hits some specific number - I don't remember what it is. If you change your own oil, you can clear it by starting the engine, putting the tranny in gear, shut off the engine, then hold the key all the way to start and press and release the accelerator pedal three times within five seconds.

Just turn the key on - don't start - then push down the gas pedal and release 3 times.

joelyn, I believe you hold down the "Mode" button for ten seconds and the "diagnostic" menu appears, scroll up and down as necessary. If you pause for more than 3 seconds that sub-menu item will be displayed. Holding down the "mode" button again returns you to the diagnostic menu. The last menu item returns the system to normal.

Hope this isn't too confusing.

Joe, if you have your oil changed, they should reset it for you and unless you drive pass the millage (around 5000) miles, you will not see it.

If you are saying that you change your own oil, have not reset it and have never seen the message, then it would seem you have a problem with the computer software.

It is a convience item to notify you that it is time for service.

I called Workhorse about that and was told that the feature was not implemented with the Actia instrument panel.

I speak of 3 customer support calls I had to make one month... To shorten it, the one to workhorse lasted less than a minute. I'd just had my oil changed and the "CHANGE OIL" message flashed on my driver information display and would not go away. The tech had failed to reset it.

If you have your oil changed regulary, and the technician does his job right, you will NEVER see teh message.. If you let it go, or he skips that step (resetting) the procedure to reset is up-thread in one of the early replies.

Clay, if that is true call them back and ask them to explain the "Change Oil" message on the Acita display. Something triggers it!

Sure lots of bad info comming out of WCC tech support. My chassis is a 2005 W24, and the Oil Life Reamining system is alive and well. Of course it has a Actia IP.

The customer service guy said the "Change Oil" message is triggered by mileage - every 7000 miles as I recall.

The feature I was addressing was the "GM Oil Life System (OLS)" mentioned in your post, not the change oil message.
