That is a 2007 W-22 for which 2 recalls were completed. If you want the entire build sheet, send an email to edgray1@gmail.com so I can attach it to a reply. Include your screen name, because that is how I file them.

For future readers of this thread:

If you want the build sheet and/or a recall check for YOUR workhorse chassis (beginning with "5B4"), please use email to edgray1@gmail.com and provide only the last eight (8) digits of the WCC VIN#. I will reply to your email and attach the info. This method will save both of us the steps involved going thru this forum. Thanks. Ed

Hi Ed Gray, do you know if Workhorse is still ok a recall on a 2009 or 2010 W22 if it hasn't ever been completed? I am thinking about buying one

I believe that any recall issued for any Workhorse chassis MUST be completed at no cost to the owner by Navistar, for as long as they remain in business.

Hence the J72 AAPB was added. It is an improved version of the J71 AAPB that was used for years on the P32 chassis from GM & later from WCC.

The J71 was infamous for causing its owners grief, and the J72 is much improved but not without "some" problems, hence my comment about the J72 not being bulletproof.

Later models of the W-24 got an Allison 2350 tranny which provided a PP, and therefore the J72 AAPB is NOT included on those later models. You can tell if a chassis has any version of the AAPB, because if so, it will have the "yellow knob" PB release button somewhere near the driver's seat.

The acronyms on this forum are many, you have to start writing them down. AAPB automatically applied parking
brake. PP parking pawl. WCC workhorse custom chassis. And many others.

Not sure what that number is....but ALL WCC RV chassis begin with "5B4".

If you have a WCC P32 chassis, the 6th vin position will be a "3" or a "5", and most of them have the infamous J71 AAPB. If that is what you have, all questions should be sent via EMAIL to: oldusedbear11@charter.net Roger is the FREE expert on all things related to the J71 AAPB.

What's the difference between the J71 and J72 AAPB?
