I like my Workhorse, but it really could use a rear track bar.

The rear track bar made a huge difference on my W24 Adventurer. Its a whole new coach going down the road.

Could you remark more about your perception?
I have read similar reports on several occasions. But, it confuses me.
A track bar AKA Panhard Rod does one thing...stops side to side axle movement.

Our W24 has no obvious movement like this in the back end.
And with well over 2,000lb capacity available on the rear GAWR and just under 2,000lb capacity on the front , the best thing we can do for the road manners is to load up.

Thanks

Exactly. Mine has a noticeable amount of tail wag as trucks pass. I'm glad to hear that yours doesn't. Most of them do. Is it possible yours already has a track bar installed by a previous owner?

Many thanks for the reply

Nope, ours was all OEM at purchase. We installed a Safe-T-Plus blue which noticably improved the steering and tracking when on roads with expansion joints and rain grooving, but haven't felt a need for other upgrades...except...

...Really would like to add a Kelderman or similar air ride to soften the ride of the front due to the ever decreasing quality of the freeways.
https://kelderman.com/shop/workhorse...air-suspension

Have heard nothing but good reports about Kelderman's kits.

Safe travels

My W24 Adventurer is a very solid coach. The ride and handling are decent but there was some tail wag when semis were approaching from the rear. I am a right lane driver and typically drive between 62 and 64 mph. The bow wake from a large tractor trailer would hit the driver side rear of the coach and push it rightward. I would have to counter steer slightly to keep the coach going straight down the road. Some types of semis were worse than others. If the left lane were full of semis passing me i would be constantly sawing at the wheel to keep the coach going straight down the hwy. On occasion, under certain conditions I would have to counter steer a lot. Depending on the road conditions and the speed at which the semi and I were going the tail wag was almost dangerous.

I installed the Ultra Trac track bar kit from Ultra RV Products. This device completely solved my tail wag from approaching semis. I expected it to work good but I didn’t expect to completely eliminate the semi induced tail wag. I have put about 5000 miles on the coach since December when I installed the Ultra trac. In that time there has never even been once that I was uncomfortable being passed by a semi. My wife can drive the coach now. No way could she drive it without the trac bar.

I have about 75,000 miles of RV driving under my belt. I am a pretty fair driver and have never even come close to putting a scratch on any of my motorhomes over the last 40 years. The trackbar was a huge improvement on my Adventurer.

On my Itasca 35U I have every motor and suspension mod available for this chassis. I installed all of the suspension mods at the same time right after I bought the coach and the improvements were huge but I couldn’t tell which mod made the most difference.

The trac bar on my Adventurer made such a difference that I plan on doing all the other suspension mods later in the future and separately so that I can feel what difference each one made.

I just ordered the Blue Ox Trac bar. Looking forward to seeing how much difference it makes.

Please report back your findings. I was thinking about this. The prior owner put a front track bar on, but I still have some tail wag when a truck passes. I try to keep my speed as close to 60 as I can so the trucks are always passing me.

VIN Recall lookup

I see mention of a member who given a VIN number can tell if recalls have been performed. I'm wondering if that member is still around. I want to know if the brake recall has been performed. Thanks, Alan.

Thanks for the reply, but I went to that post already. The guy there who had access to this information, Ed Gray, seems to no longer have it.
