It did have a problem with the spark plug wires overheating which may be caused by the motorhome manufacturer. Workhorse replaced all plugs, wires and installed two fresh air kits for free. The six speed Allison transmission is great. I would have to think pretty hard about going to a chassis that did not have the Allison. Anyway, people tend to support what they have but I am a happy camper with my Workhorse chassis.

faye, Greetings! Welcome to iRV2. In regard to the spark plugs, there has not been a recall or TSB in regard to spark plugs on Workhorse chassis.

In the event that you experience a plug wire failure, an owner has a couple of options one of which would be to obtain more robust wires and the other installing a device called a cold air vent kit.

Absent a problem you should be fine with what you have on the engine right now.

If you do develop a miss, let us know and we'll walk you through it.

There's no recall....but yes, the heat under the doghouse has a way of aging the plug wires 10 fold. If you get the cold air kit, get a competent mech to install it. I just picked up a 2005 Safari and it already had the cold air ducts "installed".....when I get it back from the inspection, I'll post pictures for us all to laugh at.

faye, you didn't say what coach you have. If it is a Dolphin or Sea Breeze, the front grill and underhood configuration should be the same as our '05 and odds are you won't have issues.
I did change our wires and plugs for performance reasons but did not see any evidence of overheating on the originals, and have not experienced any heat related problems. There are lots of posts about changing to high temperature and performance wires, but that is more a personal choice unless heat problems are present. The add-on cold air ducting that WorkHorse developed is probably the first option to consider if needed.
