Workhorse UFO Brake alerts

Hi,

A few days ago the ATC and ABS light came on way to a Campground. On way home this morning the ATC, ABS, park brake light came on and cycled between brake failure and ABS alerts.

Once home I disconnected the chassis
battery for a few hours and then drove the coach, the ATC and ABS light came on but not the other alerts.

I have 2 shops I will call tomorrow to see can they get me in to hookup the Wabco Toolbox.

I might just need to bite the bullet and purchase the Wabco Toolbox software and cable but it's over 1,000$.

The HCU is a rebuilt 2012 unit and the wiring harness was replaced last year due to corrosion.

I am glad this happened this weekend and not on our 1000 mile trip soon.

I love the coach but the braking system drives me nuts.

At truck shop now. Hooked up Wabco Toolbox and displayed a Abs sensor alert. They cleared the alert and drove it around the block, alert for the sensor returned.

They are changing the sensor as I type this.

Fingers crossed this is it.

Turns out the sensor is not making an exact connection due to a divet, they are ordering the same one that was faulty.

On the 40 mile drive home the ATC and ABS alerted but bot the brake failure message.

At least it's only a sensor:-)

Sensor was replaced today, the ATC and ABS light still came on but Wabco Toolbox could not find any codes.

Spoke with Alan from Brazels and he advised going to a different shop.

My wife is going nuclear (and I am not far behind her), and she is threatening to either sell or trade in the coach.

Spoke to Wabco and brought the coach to Cummins, they reckon it's the ABS tone ring (as well as the abs senso).

Hoping to have the coach back tomorrow or tuesdsy.

Got the coach back from Cummins. Issue was with the rotor. Drove 300 miles today with no issues.

Rotor was worn and corroded.

Brake failure

Sounds like the HCU (hydraulic control unit) Call Larry at Larry’s Auto Clinic in Myrtle Beach. Best there is around.

Thanks for the recommendation, will keep it in mind if I ever make it to Florida.

Hcu was fine, issue was the rotor and abs sensor. Have driven 1100 miles since the repair.

Hows the JKU working out for you? Got any pictures of your coach, toad, kayaks, etc all loaded up and ready to haul the mail.

The Jku is going great, we love it :-)

I don't have any photos of it ready to haul, must get some next week.
