1990 Ford Class A air pump bypass

I have a 1990 Newport by Cobra and i will be changing the belts. is there any problem with bypassing the air pump and not running it. i plan to add banks headers and dual exhaust and removing the cat converter. thanks for any help in advance

I guess that would depend on if your home state inspects vehicle emission systems.

this is a great site. i have no problems with state inspections because of age, i was just wondering about preformance and causing any problems

Shouldn't have any issues so long as the belt doesn't run anything else. If it does then you'll have to make sure that there won't be any guiding issues.

As I recall that era had a separate belt for the air pump.
