Hi Guys, just letting you know i gutted the converter today and welded the pipe back together. I took it for a test drive and low and behold... it feels like a real big block now, what a difference. as soon as i looked inside the converter, the honey combs were rotated 90 degrees so it was completely plugged up. i think this has solved my lack of power issue but i'm gonna plug the code reader in anyway and see if anything comes up.
Thanks for your help everyone once again! Happy trails!
Sean.

Try a tank of REAL GAS, not the ethanol junk most stations sell today. The problem is not all states allow real gas to be sold, but it can still be found in places. I put a tankful in my 2004 V10 and it made a BIG difference in power.
These sites may help:
Ethanol-free gas stations in the U.S. and Canada
or
Find ethanol free gas near you!
A 1992 engine was definitely not designed to run with ethanol diluted gas.
