1997 Thor Hurricane F53 460 Fuel Pump Issue

I know Ford Fuel Pumps are junk but here is my story.

RV would act like it was loosing power unless you accelerated past a certain speed then bog down again. Acted like a bad tank of gas.

Replaced fuel pressure regulator...no change.

Checked all fuses and relays...no problem.

No codes from OBD 1 reader.

Decided to replace fuel pump module only. Ordered a new fuel pump module for a 97 F53 460 RV however, the original assembly was replaced with an updated pump manufactured in 2011.*

Fuel pump module would not mate up properly. Looked completely different and number etched in the fuel pump only would not cross reference to any known pumps (chinese ???). Researched for a replacement for the actual fuel pump in the new updated Motorcraft assembly.

Found an exact match for the unknown pump inside the fuel pump module. A Spectra Premium SP1285 Electric Fuel Pump which matched the new assembly fuel pump exactly from Amazon.

Note to self, order new parts after repairs have started.**

Anyway, this fixed the problem.* RV 460 runs great.

Thanks.
