Does it turn over and not start? When you say scanner do you mean OBD II scanner? Why do you state fuel in pounds?

You say "it has air and 40psi, I presume you mean it has 40psi fuel pressure at the fuel rail? I'm a bit confused about the "it has air" comment.

If the engine cranks over but won't start, either no fuel getting into the combustion chamber and/or no spark to ignite fuel.

Has it started and run OK before? If you can't get it started probably be a good idea to have it towed to a Ford Heavy Duty truck repair facility and have them run a diagnostic check to ferret out the problem.

Good luck and let us know the fix to your problem.

Fuel pressure spec is 35psi to 45psi key on engine off so that is ok. So now we need to confirm spark then injector pulse. Pull the most accessible coil and test for spark with tester or plug. Sometimes I just shoot a little ether in the air horn at the intake if it then starts and dies thus spark is confirmed as ok and fuel confirmed as absent. Injector pulse can be confirmed with a stethoscope listening to the injectors and or a test light. When cranking does the engine show rpm's on the scanner?
