Quick question about the oil dipstick in my Class C RV.
I changed my oil for the first time yesterday since getting this second hand RV. I have read here and other places about the dipstick not being accurate on some of these models and I think my RV falls in this category according to the model and year.
My question is this - just exactly what is the issue because I cannot figure out what is wrong. I purchased a new filter and I purchased the 5+ quart jug of oil. (5.28 quarts) I changed the oil and filter and after using the entire 5+ quarts of oil and running the engine for about 10 minutes the dipstick reads full.
So what is wrong with that? I purchased 2 additional quarts of oil thinking I would need it but now I am not sure.
Looking forward to some help here....thanks!

I've had two f53 v 10 and both required 6 quarts with filter change.

My 2001 had that problem. It was the wrong dip stick and Ford had a TSB to replace it.

According to Ford the TSB applied only to the F53 (class A) chassis. On some the original dipstick had a T handle. Both the dipstick and the tube were replaced. The new dipstick has a loop end.

Mine was a class A. They only replaced the dip stick. Didn't know there was a difference between the class A and C.

Ahhh, so I have a class C and my dipstrick has the T handle.
Good to know it only applied to Class A. Not sure what F53
means....

F53 is the type and style of chassis.
