2000 Land Yacht XL 355 Heater

There is a vacuum valve on the outside of the Heater Box under the hood that does not have a vacuum line attached. Does anyone know if there should be a vacuum line attached and what does the valve control? I do not have a vacuum line that is hanging loose and not attached to anything.

Yes, that appears to be the recirc door for Max AC.
Check out the following links for details.

Garys 68 is correct. It is the servo motor for the inside recirculating or outside fresh air selection. The plastic tubing that they used is crap. It will fall apart after a few years outside. The inside tubing is protected and will usually last. Most people usually ran a new outside tube and simply spliced the old inside and new outside tubing together with a rubber tubing that fit tightly over the old tubing.

Thanks for the information, I will start looking for a vacuum line under the dash that is not connected.

Mine was frayed apart when I got my 98 Winnebago too.
There was about a foot of good hose (blue) extending forward of the firewall that I spliced onto.

The part that is under the dash will probably still be good. Start at the heater control. Follow the plastic tubing to the firewall. Note where the tubing goes through the firewall. Go outside and look for the tubing where it comes through the firewall. The bad piece will usually be outside, under the hood. Splice in the new piece of tubing. Rainwater and engine heat is what causes the tubing to rot.
