I would bet you will not see any ABS codes on either of these units.
You will need something a little more involved than a "parts store" scanner
OBD I and OBD II engine codes are easy for any simple handheld scanner/code reader. ABS, Air Bag, and Transmission codes require more purpose intended scanners, like the Snap-On Solus, or OTC's System 3. While Both are excelent scanners, they can cost upward of $4000.00. not something most do-it-yourselfers have access to. Ideally, one would have the scanners that the dealers have, like the NGS Tester for the Fords, and the Tech 2 for the GM's, and The Current DRB for the Chrysler Stuff. But That gets difficult, not to mention, rather expensive. I am personally Demoing the new Snap-On Solus Pro. Might be my next big purchase. I am, however already somewhat discouraged, as it will not talk to a Jeep Liberty Diesel.
