2011 Ford ABS Light
On our way home from Branson our ABS light came on .So I call the Ford hot line and they ask for our cell phone number. They call back about a hr latter and say it is no big deal and some times a big bump in the road will trigger it.We stop for dinner and shut it down and rung the gen set 100 degrees today.Started it up it was still on but after a mile or two it went off and has stayed off.Have any of you had this happen and would you have a Ford dealer check it out when we get home. Still under the Warranty with 14,500 miles on our 22,500 pound rail with 22.5 tires.

Yes, have it checked out right away. Do not turn off the chassis batteries as this can cause the ABS module to erase the stored DTC. If this occurs, there will be no way for the tech to know why the light came on and unless it comes on again, there will be no diagnosis path.
BTW, a large bump no matter how big it is should not turn on the ABS light unless there is a fault.

Had this happen to me on icy snowy trip, came on for few hours, when home i sprayed water on entire underside of chassis, concentrating on wheels and brakes to remove salt and sand, never happened again. Light comes on at start up, system check, goes back out in few seconds. I assume was debris around sensors. That was 7 months and 4000 miles ago! Good news for me.

Thanks for all the help . I dropped the coach off last night and got a call from the Ford dealer and he said a sensor was bad and he ordered it and will be in the next day so thanks for talking me into getting it checked out . He also asked if I had ever had it checked out before and I told him I had a few Winnebago dealers work on it during the First year but all coach stuff not Ford stuff. Do you think maybe Winnebago checks the breaks before it leaves Forest City. I cant believe a rv dealer would even mess with the Ford side of things . What do you think. Any way THANK YOU for this great site. p. s my 3/36 warranty is getting good use.

I would put it this way, I would hope they do not mess with the brakes. Unless they are highly qualified to work on chassis brakes, they don't need to even check them.
