2012 3v V10 6 speed select a shift maybe?

Was thinking the other day with the 3v V10 still being used in the 2012 Ford medium duty section vehicles with the new 6 speed select a shift... I wonder how long it will be before the F53 chassis starts using the 6 speed. I would have to say maybe in 2012 models (lets hope) If so it will be the cats meow.. so much more driver control than the 4 speed and 5 speed. I have used this new 6 speed technology in the last year in the 6.2L and 5.0L trucks they are really nice. I can see me now in our new 2012 3v v10 RV towing a F650 toad.

Now we need to get Ford to engineer this stuff for retrofitting. It would be nice to drop a 2012 tranny with newer features into my 06 unit. Can't see getting a new RV just for a tranny, some might, but not me.

Good points on the retrofit. I was also thinking along the lines the new 6 speed will have a deeper first gear and better gear span between gears to prevent some of the engine bogging between gears. And the economy part with 6th speed.

The TorqShift design in fact has six forward ratios, but only five are advertised, with the 'hidden' gear only used in extreme cold weather. The TorqShift 1st to 5th gear ratios are as stated. It also utilizes an alternate 4th gear, overdrive on 2nd gear of the 3 speed automatic component (0.72 x 1.55), that is 1.10:1 that is used under cold start conditions to aid engine and transmission warm up.
