2012 F53 Chassis Lube Advise
I could not get grease to flow into the upper and lower King pin fittings either on the left or right sides.
Do I need to raise the coach to take the pressure off? What am I missing? I was able to lube all the other axle components.

That's kind strange that a chassis so new would have a problem taking new grease. There's a couple of things that you might do. Take the existing grease fitting out and replace it. It might be stopped up. If grease still won't go in I'd try some propane heat on the joint area to kind of warm up the existing grease. When you finally get the grease to flow I make sure you put enough in to replace all that was in there.

Very common with king pins, raise the front end up to take the weight off, it should have no problem taking grease then. Once it takes grease turn the wheels side to side a couple of times and grease again.

What he^ said. Make sure you pump it in slow so it has time to go through all the king pin. Fast can just cause the grease to push out the easiest path.

Thanks guys. Makes sense to suspend the wheel and turn. I'll get this done in the next week or so. Thanks again!

Careful with the heat. Guess how I found my first set of nylon king pin bushings?

It is not uncommon for new grease fittings to jamb up. I had to replace them on the new hubs for my trailer as the new ones that came from China were already frozen right out of the box. If they don't flow when unloaded then pull the fittings and see if the grease will pass through it then replace as required.

BTW there are 9 fittings. If it is new one may have a cap on it and hard to find.

#9 is a little difficult to locate. Mine had a cap on it. It is 10 o'clock position as facing drivers side.

I got #9 no problem. The king pins 1-4 wouldn't take grease. Will be raising frame and turning wheel while pushing grease next chance I get.

I did my second lube on the steering linkage and was able to push grease into all four king pin fittings. I did raise the coach up a bit and turned wheels. Also, you need to be very straight on the fitting. As for number 9, up on the steering box, there doesn't appear to be an area where grease would be pushed out as its being replace?

Using a power (air or battery) may help also, it has more pressure behind it. I couldn't get grease in mine until I used one. The one I purchased was a Lincoln on Amazon, about $75, believe me it is the way to go. The zerk on the steering box (#9) took a lot of grease, I don't think it had been done in a while.
