2012 Itasta Sunstar doghouse removal

Any one know how to find the fastner/screw/allen wrench on the rear
of the carpet covered doghouse on a Sunstar, the one between the passenger seats. The two in front under the dash, are there, no problem,
phillips screw driver did it, but I can't find the other one in the back.
Thanks!! (Ford F53-V10)

Try using a magnet to find the elusive screws. Worked for us on a previous motorhome.

If you don't have a magnet, you can download a free stud finder app to an iPhone. Probably Android phone apps have one too.

ATTENTION !!!!! A magnet won't work. The latch is more than an inch deep into the front of the doghouse (DH) (fiberglass) cover.

The latch hole is about 2" off center right on the front vertical side of the cover. The latch is an allen wrench. It may be an SAE size 5/16" but I just showed a guy how to take his cover off 30 minutes ago and used an 8-mm size.

Finding the carpet covered hole can be tricky but it's there. I think all WBGO/Itasca's are held on the same. There are two screws up front and the allen screw latch in the rear.

.
I just took a long skinny screw driver and started quickly probing the general area in the middle and in no time the screwdriver sunk in a little ways and you could hear it hit the allen bolt head.

This is a double post. The OP asked the same question in the Winnebago forum. Page 3-10 of the owners manual has 2 pictures of the dog house removal process. The first picture shows the screws at the dash board end. The second picture shows the Allen wrench in the latch at the rear.

The online manual can be found at :
